A Christmas surprise for local village hall!

We surprised volunteers and visitors at Ellerton and Aughton Village Halll with a donation of £35,544 to help make the hall’s facilities more inclusive and accessible to everyone in the community.

Jackie, our marketing assistant, nominated Ellerton and Aughton Village Hall for the donation after seeing first-hand the impact it makes on the community.

She said: “With amenities and funding decreasing over the years for rural villages, I wanted to nominate a local charity and worthy cause to help benefit the community.

Jo Pease, Treasurer at Ellerton and Village Hall, was delighted to find out that the hall had been granted the funding.

Jo told us “It’s an absolutely fantastic thing, we can actually make the village hall 21st century. We do some fantastic fundraising but couldn’t have hoped to have raised the amount we have received tonight. It would have taken us 15 years to raise that amount of money.”

Ellerton and Aughton Village Hall currently run a variety of events including its monthly arts and craft club, film club and its weekly Wednesday Club for the elderly but hopes with the funding that they can create more events for everyone in the community.

Jo added: “The funding will go towards building new disabled toilets, baby changing room facilities plus easy access in and out of the hall. Thanks to St Helen’s Farm we can now make the hall more accessible to everyone, young and old.”

Jo added: “The hall is at the centre of the community for the two villages and the donation will benefit everyone that currently attends our events. It will also help us plan for different events and maybe re-introduce playgroups to the hall.”

We’re delighted to have made such a big difference to the community of Ellerton and Aughton and would like to thank each and every one of you that supports us by buying our products!

Merry Christmas from all of us at St Helen’s Farm.
