Goats Cheese Hash Browns

Elevate the classic hash brown using goats cheese, for a seriously satisfying breakfast or brunch.


  • 3 large potatoes (approx. 500g) - washed
  • 1 teaspoon chopped chives
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley
  • 1 egg - beaten
  • seasoning
  • 120g St Helen's Farm Goats Cheese - grated
  • Knob St Helen's Farm butter for frying
  • Sunflower oil for frying

To Serve

  • 125 g St Helen's Farm natural yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish or grainy mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)

Makes 8 hash browns

Cooking time 25 minutes


Boil potatoes until just firm, cool. Remove skin and then grate potatoes into a bowl add herbs, seasoning, cheese and egg.

Bring together, make into patty. Chill for at least 15 minutes.

Heat oil and butter, brown on both sides, then transfer on to baking sheet, bake at 200C /Fan 180C /Gas Mark 6 for 10-15 minutes until golden.

To make dressing, mix natural yogurt with mustard or horseradish and honey.

Serve with dressing as a light lunch/starter or for brunch with bacon and mushrooms!
